Description
This lot consists of three vintage hand planes of varying manufacture and design. The collection includes one transitional plane and two metal smoothing planes. The Stanley No. 35 transitional plane features a cast iron mechanical assembly mounted to a hardwood sole. The cutting iron is stamped with Stanley Rule and Level Co. and New Britain Conn U.S.A. The lever cap bears a circular mark for Stanley Rule and Level Co. The number 35 is stamped into the front of the wooden sole. The second tool is a Dunlap smoothing plane with a cast iron body. The lever cap is marked Dunlap inside an oval border. The third item is a standard cast iron No. 4 smoothing plane with No 4 cast into the toe of the body. All three planes are equipped with wooden totes and front knobs.
Metal smoothing planes: approximately 9 to 9.5 inches in length. Pickup is Friday, July 31, from Noon to 7 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
