Description
A Bell Clock Co. quartz ship’s bell mantel clock featuring a cylindrical brass housing mounted on a stepped wooden base with a contoured backboard and rectangular plinth. The clock face is enclosed by a hinged glass door with a brass toggle latch. The silver-toned brushed metal dial includes black Arabic hour numerals, an inner ring for 24-hour military time markers 13 through 23 with 00 at the 12 o’clock position, and an outer minute track. It is fitted with black spade-style hour and minute hands, a red needle second hand, and a red-tipped indicator hand. The dial is marked BELL CLOCK with a bell symbol, QUARTZ, and SHIP’S CLOCK U. S. A. The underside of the base is finished with green protective felt.
Dimensions: 11.75 inches (W) x 8.75 inches (H) x 4.5 inches (D). Pickup is Friday, July 31, from Noon to 7 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item. Condition report:
The wooden base shows minor scuffs and finish wear consistent with age and use, particularly at the corners and along the lower edges. Light surface tarnish is present on the brass housing. The glass face is clear without visible chips or cracks. The quartz movement is currently untested for timekeeping accuracy or chime functionality.
