Description
This decorative miniature violin music box was manufactured by The San Francisco Music Box Company. The instrument is crafted from wood with a reddish-brown glossy finish on the body and neck, while the fingerboard, chin rest, and tailpiece are finished in black. It features four synthetic strings and plastic tuning pegs. The internal musical movement is a wind-up metal mechanism; the silver-tone winding key is embossed with a stylized S, the mark of Sankyo movements. The back of the body displays two white adhesive labels, one identifying The San Francisco Music Box Company and the other stating Made in Taiwan R.O.C. The lot includes a matching black-painted wooden cradle-style display stand.
Total length: 12.75 inches. Pickup is Friday, July 31, from Noon to 7 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item. Condition report:
Good pre-owned condition. The wood finish shows minor surface wear, including light scratches and a small visible chip on the lower edge of the back panel. The synthetic strings are loose but intact. The musical mechanism is reported to be in working order.
