Description
This original 1968 psychedelic serigraph poster, titled The Inner Eye, was created by San Francisco artist Wilfried Satty. The work features a dense, abstract composition centered on a complex circular mandala form that radiates stylized blue and teal crescent shapes. These geometric elements are layered over a saturated orange field containing dark brown organic, amoebic motifs. The poster is printed using fluorescent silkscreen inks designed to react under ultraviolet light. Identification text is printed along the lower right margin: ARTIST: SATTY (C) 1968, followed by a circular ORBIT logo and the publisher credit (C) EAST TOTEM WEST, 159 Throckmorton Ave., Mill Valley, California 94941. The title The Inner Eye is printed vertically along the lower right edge. This is an unframed work on paper.
Sheet size: 35 x 23 inches. Pickup is Friday, July 31, from Noon to 7 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item. Condition report:
The poster exhibits signs of age and handling consistent with its period. There is light creasing throughout the sheet and minor wear along the edges. Small losses of paper are visible at the extreme corners, consistent with pinholes or adhesive removal from previous mounting. The reverse of the sheet shows scattered brown spotting and foxing. The printed surface remains vibrant with no major tears or repairs noted.
