Description
Wilfred Sätty (German-American, 1939-1982). A vintage 1967 psychedelic blacklight serigraph poster titled Mirage. The composition features a central hypnotic spiral of vibrant orange biomorphic shapes set against a bright blue field. This central motif is framed by a stylized arch of green and brown landscape and foliage elements. A collaged photographic image of a reclining nude female figure is repeated in a rhythmic, spiraling sequence at the bottom, leading toward the center. The poster is printed using fluorescent inks designed to react under ultraviolet light. The lower right margin bears the printed text ARTIST: SÄTTY and includes an ORBIT logo. The lower center margin features the title Mirage in script. The lower margin also includes the copyright line 1967 SAN FRANCISCO AVION, 1230 GRANT AVE., S.F., CALIF.
Sheet size: 34.25 x 22.5 inches. Pickup is Friday, July 31, from Noon to 7 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item. Condition report:
Fair condition. Significant vertical tear approximately 4 inches in length with associated creasing located along the center-left edge. Pinholes and adhesive residue are present in all four corners from previous mounting. General light to moderate handling creases across the sheet. The reverse shows toning and remains of mounting tape at the corners.
