Description
A US military medical field kit, specifically designated as Case, Medical Instrument and Supply Set, Nylon, Non-Rigid No. 3, commonly known as the M3 medic bag. The kit is constructed of olive drab nylon and features an adjustable canvas shoulder strap and a black plastic buckle closure. The exterior front flap is stenciled with the United States Medical Corps caduceus symbol and U.S. lettering. Interior markings on the case identify the manufacturer as Eastern Canvas Prod. Inc. with contract number DLA120-79-C-4898, dating the case to 1979, and National Stock Number 6545-00-912-9870. The set includes an internal nylon instrument roll with contract marking DSA120-72-C-0708, dating the roll to 1972. The kit contains a collection of stainless steel surgical instruments, including multiple straight and curved hemostats, two scalpel handles marked with a 4, and surgical probes. Accompanying medical supplies include multiple packages of Ethicon sterile silk sutures, camouflaged compressed gauze bandages (NSN 6510-00-200-3185), a compressed muslin triangular bandage, benzalkonium chloride and alcohol prep pads, a roll of medical tape or padding, and black-coated safety pins. We do our best to describe all items in the sale, and we definitely take a ton of photos. But, we are not able to guarantee authenticity or era of items in the sale. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
