Description
This US Army enlisted man’s service visor cap dates to the World War II era. The cap is constructed of olive drab wool gabardine with a structured crown and a brown leather visor. It features an adjustable brown leather chinstrap secured by two small gold-tone brass buttons embossed with the Great Seal of the United States. The front of the cap displays a circular gold-tone brass enlisted man’s cap device featuring the Great Seal. The interior is lined with a yellow-gold silk or rayon fabric and includes a brown leather sweatband. A diamond-shaped retailer’s label is present under a clear plastic protector in the crown, literal transcription: 7, MADE EXPRESSLY FOR, BROWNIE’S Army and Navy Store, 10 W. Eagle St., Buffalo, N. Y.
