Description
This group of United States Army field gear includes equipment dating from the early 20th century through the Vietnam War. The collection features a pair of World War II M1942 pattern aluminum canteens. One base is stamped U.S. B.P. & F. CO 1943 and the other is stamped U.S. L.P. Co. 1942. Also included is a pair of olive drab plastic one-quart canteens with embossed water usage instructions. The lot contains a trio of canvas canteen covers in olive drab shades #3 and #7, with one cover bearing a Shane Mfg. Co. 1943 manufacturer mark. The collection includes an assortment of M1942 aluminum mess kits, characterized by folding handles with U.S. stamps and two-compartment lids. One mess kit exhibits a darker finish compared to the others. A green nylon mesh mosquito head net with a clear viewing visor, typical of Vietnam War era equipment, is present. A tan canvas equipment pouch stamped L.A. 1909 features a wire belt hanger. We do our best to describe all items in the sale, and we definitely take a ton of photos. But, we are not able to guarantee authenticity or era of items in the sale. Pickup is Wednesday, July 15, from Noon to 5 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
