This collection consists of multiple reference works and histories focusing on United States military operations, uniforms, and equipment, primarily during World War II and the Vietnam War. Notable titles include Grunt: A Pictorial Report on the US Infantry’s Gear and Life During the Vietnam War 1965-1975 by Antonio Arques; The War: An Intimate History 1941-1945 by Geoffrey C. Ward and Ken Burns (Knopf); and U.S. Army Uniforms of World War II by Shelby Stanton (Stackpole Books). The group includes specialized reference series such as Volume 6 of the U.S. Navy Uniforms in World War II series by Jeff Warner (Schiffer Military History) and several Osprey Publishing Men-at-Arms titles covering the American Indian Wars and the Iran-Iraq War. Other works cover tactical histories and personal accounts, including Small Unit Action in Vietnam Summer 1966 by Captain Francis J. West Jr., To the Sound of the Guns by Grady T. Birdsong, and Silence Was a Weapon: The Vietnam War In The Villages by Stuart A. Herrington. The books are a mix of hardcover with dust jackets and trade paperbacks. Additional publishers represented include Presidio Press and Greenhill Books. Most volumes are quarto or octavo in size. We do our best to describe all items in the sale, and we definitely take a ton of photos. But, we are not able to guarantee authenticity or era of items in the sale. Please carefully look at all photos (up to 100 in some cases on our in-house platform) to judge for yourself what you are buying. All sales are final. Our in-house shipping is available. Pickup is Wednesday, July 15, from Noon to 5 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
