Description
A US Army olive drab wool service uniform set consisting of an M1944 wool field jacket, commonly known as an Ike jacket, and a pair of M1937 pattern wool service trousers. The jacket features a cropped waist design with adjustable side buckles, a waist tab closure, and two pleated breast pockets with button-down flaps. The left shoulder displays a 33rd Infantry Regiment shoulder sleeve insignia, consisting of a blue circular patch with a white silhouette of the island of Trinidad containing a red cross, topped by a blue 33rd Infantry scroll. Both sleeves are adorned with wool Private First Class rank chevrons. The interior collar retains a white fabric size tag marked 34R. The olive satin lining features a handwritten black ink laundry mark K9766. The matching wool trousers feature a button fly and white cotton inner waistband. The waistband is inscribed in black ink with the name Harry Maliger and the service number C1892249. These items feature differing identification marks, indicating they are a mixed or married grouping rather than a single-source set. We do our best to describe all items in the sale, and we definitely take a ton of photos. But, we are not able to guarantee authenticity or era of items in the sale.
