Description
This lot consists of three US Army M1944 olive drab wool field jackets, commonly referred to as Ike jackets, and two pairs of wool trousers.
The first jacket features sewn sergeant chevrons on both sleeves, a yellow embroidered Honorable Discharge Ruptured Duck patch above the right breast pocket, and three gold-colored overseas service bars on the lower left sleeve indicating eighteen months of theater service. An interior size tag reads 40R.
The second jacket features corporal chevrons on both sleeves and an Allied Force Headquarters shoulder sleeve insignia on the left shoulder depicting a white flaming sword with wings on a red shield. Two gold-colored overseas service bars are located on the lower left sleeve, indicating twelve months of theater service. The interior size tag reads 40R.
The third jacket features corporal chevrons on both sleeves and three gold-colored overseas service bars on the lower left sleeve. The interior lining is stamped in black ink with the markings SQ 1298 and G-7298-7298.
The first pair of olive drab wool trousers features a button fly and has an interior paper tag reading W34 L33.
The second pair of olive drab wool trousers features a button fly and has handwritten markings on the inner waistband reading W29XL33 and 55 T 35429-33. We do our best to describe all items in the sale, and we definitely take a ton of photos. But, we are not able to guarantee authenticity or era of items in the sale. Pickup is Wednesday, July 15, from Noon to 5 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
