Description
This lot consists of two U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer (CPO) Service Dress Blue jackets, dating to the mid-20th century. Both garments are constructed from heavy navy blue wool in a double-breasted style. One jacket is badged on the left sleeve with a Chief Petty Officer rating badge for an Aerographer’s Mate (AG), featuring a silver-tone eagle above a red specialty mark depicting a globe, three red chevrons, and one red rocker. The lower left sleeve of this jacket displays four red diagonal service stripes, representing sixteen years of service. The second jacket is a matching service dress blue coat without sleeve insignia. Both jackets are fitted with regulation gold-tone buttons embossed with the United States Navy eagle and anchor motif. Internal labeling includes a Regulation U.S. Navy Uniform tag stating the garment was made and sold under the authority of the U.S. Navy, alongside a retailer label for Kennedy’s, a clothier based in New England. The interior of the jackets feature a black silk-like lining. We do our best to describe all items in the sale, and we definitely take a ton of photos. But, we are not able to guarantee authenticity or era of items in the sale. Pickup is Wednesday, July 15, from Noon to 5 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
