Description

This United States Army M-1951 field jacket is constructed from OG-107 olive green cotton sateen. The garment features a heavy-duty metal front zipper with a button-down storm flap, four front cargo pockets with snap closures, and an internal waist drawstring. The jacket displays the rank insignia of a Master Sergeant (E-8) in yellow and olive drab on both sleeves. The wearer’s right sleeve carries the U.S. Army Vietnam (USARV) combat service patch, while the left sleeve shows the 1st Infantry Division (Big Red One) patch. Above the wearer’s left breast pocket is a yellow-on-black U.S. ARMY branch tape and a Combat Infantryman Badge (CIB) with one star, signifying a second award. Above the right breast pocket is a white cotton name tape with black lettering for CARROLL. The metal snap hardware is marked SCOVILL MFG CO.
