Description

This is a Type III U.S. Army tropical combat coat, commonly known as a jungle jacket, in the Engineer Research and Development Laboratories (ERDL) lowland camouflage pattern. The coat is constructed from 100% cotton wind-resistant ripstop poplin fabric. It features the standard four-pocket design with slanted bellows chest pockets and covered button closures. The interior collar area contains a white cloth tag identifying the size as Medium-Regular, suitable for a chest size of 37 to 41 inches and a height of 67 to 71 inches, with National Stock Number 8415-945-7656. A second interior tag provides the contract number DSA 100-69-C-1724, indicating a 1969 fiscal year production. The garment is fitted with a pair of subdued black-finished metal pin-on Specialist 4 rank insignia on the collar points.
