Description
A United States Army M-1943 (M43) field parka, also known as a mountain or ski parka, dating from the World War II era. The garment is a pullover-style hooded smock made from olive drab (OD #7) cotton poplin or twill. It features a high neck closure with three large brown urea buttons and an integrated hood with a cord drawstring. Two prominent slanted map pockets with buttoned flaps are situated on the chest. The parka includes a drawstring at the bottom hem for adjustment, though the interior waist drawstring is absent. The sleeves are finished with adjustable button cuffs. A single blackened metal snap is present on the rear neck area for attaching a fur ruff. No manufacturer’s labels, size tags, or contract stamps are visible on the interior or exterior of the garment. We do our best to describe all items in the sale, and we definitely take a ton of photos. But, we are not able to guarantee authenticity or era of items in the sale. Pickup is Wednesday, July 15, from Noon to 5 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
