Description
A collection of vintage mid-20th century military-style garments and equipment. The group features a U.S. Marine Corps M-1951 fishtail parka shell with a detachable quilted liner. The olive drab parka shell includes a zip and button-front closure, two slanted waist pockets with button flaps, and a drawcord hem. The white cloth label on the interior liner is marked PARKA-LINER, M-1951, C. H. FISHER CO. INC., NO. DA-36-243-QM-4389 MARCH 1952, SPEC. NO. MIL-L-1012(QMC), U.S. MARINE CORPS DEPT. OF SUPPLIES.
The collection includes a pair of khaki cotton twill trousers with a cloth label reading GENUINE CRAMERTON ARMY CLOTH, GUARANTEED ACCORDING TO GOVERNMENT SPECIFICATIONS, VAT DYED SANFORIZED SHRUNK, GALEY & LORD INC. These trousers feature a unique button-down closure system on the outer side of the lower legs. Also included is a long-sleeved khaki cotton service shirt with two chest pockets and olive drab green utility trousers. Accessories consist of an olive drab green cotton utility cap and a khaki canvas web belt. The brass buckle on the belt is embossed with a fleur-de-lis emblem, identifying it as a Boy Scouts of America accessory. We do our best to describe all items in the sale, and we definitely take a ton of photos. But, we are not able to guarantee authenticity or era of items in the sale. Pickup is Wednesday, July 15, from Noon to 5 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
