Description
A diverse collection of United States Army belt components and leather gear, representing styles from the Civil War through the Indian Wars. The group includes several rectangular belt plates and various brass hardware. Notable among the metal components is an original M1874 style belt plate stamped on the reverse flange with: ANSON MILLS, PAT. FEB 1, 1881 / T.C. ORNDORFF SOLE MANF / WORCESTER MASS / USA. Another M1874 style buckle is stamped F.B. & CO. on the interior folds. The lot also contains three officer style Eagle and Wreath buckles; one features a silver-toned finish while the others are brass. Marks on these include CW-9 and HV OFFICERS EAGLE. Two plain rectangular brass plates are present, one stamped S – 76 on the catch.
Accompanying the plates is a selection of field gear consisting of a tan leather waist belt and a black leather cartridge pouch. The pouch is constructed with a metal internal liner and dual belt loops on the reverse. Additional hardware includes various brass belt keepers, adjustment slides, D-rings, hooks, and a collection of small brass rivets and fittings.

Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
