Description
This collection of United States military field equipment includes items consistent with World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam War era issue. The assortment features three canteens. One is an unhoused aluminum canteen exhibiting significant field dents and wear, nested within an aluminum canteen cup with a folding handle. Two additional canteens are contained within their covers: one features a black plastic screw-on cap, and the other features an aluminum screw-on cap with a securing chain. The two khaki canvas canteen covers feature dual front-mounted Lift-the-Dot fasteners and are stamped U. S. on the front center. The reverse of the covers includes standard M1910 wire belt hangers. Also included are two M1956 Small Arms Ammunition Pouches constructed of Olive Drab cotton canvas. These pouches utilize a box design with a front strap and metal slide buckle closure. The sides include webbing for grenade attachment, and the reverse features metal slide keepers and a horizontal webbing strap. One pouch is marked on the reverse with an ink-stamped number 95. The collection further includes a set of canvas combat suspenders made of khaki cotton webbing with blackened metal hardware, including spring clips and adjustment buckles. One strap is personalized with a black ink-stamped name reading REIGLE. We do our best to describe all items in the sale, and we definitely take a ton of photos. But, we are not able to guarantee authenticity or era of items in the sale. Pickup is Wednesday, July 15, from Noon to 5 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
