Description
This is a collection of United States military field equipment spanning several decades of production for the US Army and US Marine Corps. The group includes a WWI M1917 mounted pattern canteen set featuring a khaki canvas cover with a leather shoulder strap and brass snap hook. The corresponding aluminum canteen is stamped at the base US AGMC Co 1918 and features the handwritten name WYUCKE in black ink. The group also contains WWII era M1910 canteen sets with aluminum canteens and nesting cups. One aluminum cup is stamped on the base US VOLLRATH 1943. A later example is represented by an aluminum canteen body stamped US MIRRO 1953, dating to the Korean War era. The covers are constructed from heavy canvas in shades of khaki and olive drab (OD #7), featuring wire belt hangers and brass snap fasteners. Caps across the collection include both the early aluminum screw-top style and later black plastic (Bakelite) threaded caps with metal securing chains. We do our best to describe all items in the sale, and we definitely take a ton of photos. But, we are not able to guarantee authenticity or era of items in the sale. Please carefully look at all photos (up to 100 in some cases on our in-house platform) to judge for yourself what you are buying. All sales are final. Our in-house shipping is available. Pickup is Wednesday, July 15, from Noon to 5 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
