Description
This collection of United States Army militaria primarily dates from the World War I and Interwar periods, associated with a veteran of the 1st Infantry Division. The assortment includes textile patches, metal qualification badges, and a ribbon bar. The shoulder sleeve insignia for the 1st Infantry Division is constructed of red felt on a shield-shaped olive drab wool backing. Service stripes include a gold-toned corded overseas service chevron on olive drab felt and a red felt honorable discharge chevron. A single plain olive drab felt chevron is also present. Metal items consist of a silver-toned Expert Rifleman marksmanship qualification badge with a pin-back fastener and a pendant featuring crossed rifles within a wreath. Two bronze-toned screw-back collar discs are included: one featuring the national US insignia and the other featuring crossed rifles for the Infantry branch. The two-place ribbon bar features the World War I Victory Medal ribbon with two small star devices and the American Defense Service Medal ribbon.
