Description
This collection of military insignia features various embroidered patches and metal pins associated with international elite units. The group includes several British Special Air Service (SAS) embroidered shoulder titles, comprised of two standard titles and one “1st S.A.S.” title. Also present is an SAS winged dagger patch and a corresponding metal pin, both bearing the motto WHO DARES WINS. Maritime and commando units are represented by a Special Boat Service (SBS) round patch featuring a canoe and parachute with the motto NOT BY STRENGTH BY GUILE, a 5 COMMANDO patch depicting a blue bird on a tan field, and a United States Marine Corps Eagle, Globe, and Anchor (EGA) patch and metal pin. A notable metal insignia is a Soviet-era award pin in the form of a shield featuring a red star with a hammer and sickle, a vertical sword, and Cyrillic text transcribed as ПОЧЕТНЫЙ СОТРУДНИК ГОСБЕЗОПАСНОСТИ (Honored State Security Employee), with ВЧК (Cheka) and КГБ (KGB) at the base. Additional items include embroidered paratrooper wings, a diamond-shaped parachute patch, and various small unit pins. The items are constructed from embroidered fabric, felt, and base metals.

5 Commando patch: approximately 4 inches in width
1st S.A.S. patch: approximately 3.5 inches in width
KGB pin: approximately 2 inches in height. We do our best to describe all items in the sale, and we definitely take a ton of photos. But, we are not able to guarantee authenticity or era of items in the sale. Pickup is Wednesday, July 15, from Noon to 5 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
