Description

This grouping consists of three hand-embroidered bullion patches for the United States Seventh Army, manufactured in the European theater during the World War II occupation era. The set includes a Seventh Army Shoulder Sleeve Insignia (SSI), a unit nickname tab, and a location arc. Each piece is constructed with gold-toned bullion wire and cord hand-stitched onto a dark blue wool base. The SSI is triangular and features a stylized bullion staircase representing the letter A with a central red inset triangle. The straight rectangular tab is embroidered with the text 7 STEPS TO HELL, and the curved rocker tab reads GERMANY. The reverse of the patches shows a light-colored cloth backing with visible hand-stitching, which is characteristic of theater-made insignia from this period.

SSI: 3.5 inches wide at the base
7 Steps to Hell tab: 4.5 inches long
