Description
An assortment of United States Army military insignia, service ribbons, and uniform patches, primarily from the World War I era through the early 1940s. The grouping includes a 42nd Infantry Division Rainbow Division shoulder sleeve insignia of multi-piece wool construction with red, yellow, and blue stripes. Metal insignia consist of two pairs of gold-toned open-frame Captain rank bars, two pairs of blackened brass Infantry crossed rifles, and two pairs of blackened brass U.S. collar discs. Included textile items feature a gold bullion overseas service chevron on olive drab wool and a red felt Artillery sergeant chevron with yellow embroidery. Three ribbon bars are present: one featuring the French Croix de Guerre with a bronze star device and a World War I Victory Medal with three bronze stars, and two longer custom-assembled bars containing ribbons for the Mexican Border Service Medal, Mexican Service Medal, and American Defense Service Medal.
