Description

This is an original World War II era United States Marine Corps (USMC) M1 combat helmet assembly. The set consists of a front seam, swivel bale M1 steel shell, a configuration introduced in late 1943. It is fitted with an Olive Drab (OD) webbed chin strap and a late-war period T-1 pressure-release metal buckle. The helmet is covered with an original USMC-issue reversible frogskin camouflage cover, currently displayed with the tan beach side facing out. The cover includes integrated buttonhole slits for the attachment of natural foliage. The interior contains a high-pressure, resin-impregnated cloth liner featuring a light tan Herringbone Twill (HBT) suspension system secured by unpainted steel A-washers. The liner includes an original leather sweatband and a leather liner chin strap. No manufacturer stamps, contract numbers, or dates are clearly visible in the provided photographs.
