Description
Vietnam War era United States M1 combat helmet assembly. The set consists of a steel helmet shell, a laminated nylon/plastic liner with olive drab webbing, and a Mitchell pattern reversible fabric camouflage cover. The green leaf pattern side of the cover is currently displayed, featuring handwritten graffiti in black ink reading BUCK on one side and CK on the top. A black rubber foliage band is fitted around the exterior. The interior includes a nape strap with the contract number DSA 100-68-C-1614, dating the component to 1968. The headband is marked with DSA 100 and features a leather-lined front. The olive drab webbing chin strap is equipped with a T-1 style ball-and-hook clasp.
