Description
A United States military Personnel Armor System for Ground Troops (PASGT) ballistic combat helmet, manufactured by UNICOR (Federal Prison Industries, Inc.). The helmet features a Kevlar shell with an interior stamp reading HELMET PASGT, DLA100-87-F-EC98, 8470-01-092-7528, and UNICOR. The contract number indicates a 1987 fiscal year production. The shell is stamped with a size L for Large. It is fitted with a removable 3-color desert camouflage (DCU) fabric cover and an olive drab elastic helmet band featuring two luminous cat eye reflective patches at the rear. The interior contains a standard olive drab nylon web suspension system and a brown leather sweatband. The chin strap is constructed of olive drab nylon webbing with metal snaps and plastic adjustment hardware. The name OLIVERI is handwritten in black ink on the interior rim of the fabric cover.
