Description

A United States World War II M1 combat helmet assembly, characteristic of equipment used by the US Marine Corps in the Pacific Theater. The assembly consists of a steel shell fitted with a first-pattern reversible frogskin camouflage cloth cover. The cover is currently displayed with the green jungle pattern facing out and includes factory-sewn foliage slits; the reverse side features the brown beach camouflage pattern. The interior contains a high-pressure plastic liner with a variegated brown tiger stripe appearance, a result of the fabric-reinforced resin molding process. The suspension system is constructed from khaki herringbone twill webbing secured with blackened brass A-washers. The liner is equipped with a leather sweatband and a brown leather liner chinstrap with a blackened buckle. The outer steel shell retains its original khaki web chinstraps featuring a brass T1-style hook and buckle system.

Interior width at suspension: 4.75 inches. We do our best to describe all items in the sale, and we definitely take a ton of photos.
