Description
An assortment of vintage buttons featuring various avian motifs, including owls, eagles, swans, and songbirds. The collection is mounted on a display card and includes pieces rendered in cast brass, pewter-tone metal, enamel, and carved resin or wood. Construction methods vary, with several items featuring relief or openwork detailing, while others are figurally shaped. The mounting card contains several handwritten notations including U.K. = PURCHASED FROM BUTTON SOURCE IN ENGLAND, EXTRA RICH QUALITY, and FRENCH TIGHT, alongside a printed label reading BIRDS. One piece is a figural eagle with painted details, and another features a colorful bird in flight on a white ground.
