Description
This collection of buttons features a variety of designs centered on the theme of baskets. The assortment includes pieces crafted from diverse materials such as porcelain, black glass, pewter, brass, celluloid, and cellulose acetate. Notable designs include three-dimensional figural representations of baskets overflowing with fruit and a basket containing a kitten, alongside intricate relief-cast metal and enameled styles. Several items bear markings or handwritten notations on the mounting card identifying makers and materials, including Benedict and Burnham and R J and Co Superfine. These items are buttons that demonstrate a range of manufacturing techniques from the late 19th to early 20th centuries.
Mounting card: 9 x 12 inches Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
