Description
A collection of vintage black glass buttons, attributed to Jablonex, Czechoslovakia, organized and mounted on categorized display cards. The collection is divided into specific manufacturing and stylistic groups including Lacy Type, Impressed, Wheel Cut, Wafers, Tiles, Mechanical Makeup, and Mary Gregory Type. The buttons exhibit a variety of decorative techniques such as intricate molded floral and geometric patterns, wheel-cut facets, hand-painted figures in the Mary Gregory style, and inlaid tile designs with contrasting colors. Construction details noted on the cards include deeply inserted box shanks, sheet overlays, and specific pattern identifications. The items are mounted on seven individual cards with various handwritten and typed specialist annotations.
Individual buttons range from approximately 0.25 inches to 1.5 inches in diameter.
Display cards measure approximately 9 by 12 inches. Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
