Description
An assortment of vintage buttons curated and mounted on six categorized display cards. The collection is organized by material and manufacturing technique, with labels including DUPS (Design Under Plastic Surface), DIPS (Opaque Per Joss), Embellished Polymer, Phenolic, Phenolic (Bakelite), and Realistics Phenolic. The buttons exhibit various decorative styles, including geometric forms with metallic and glitter inclusions, as well as realistic novelties shaped like a gift box, a golf bag, and fruit. Materials utilized include early plastics, resins, wood, and mother-of-pearl, with several examples featuring intricate carvings or layered designs. The display cards contain hand-written notations regarding specific materials and reference information from specialized button collecting publications. Display cards: 9 x 11 inches each Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
