Description
This collection consists of antique and vintage buttons displayed across four individual cards. The assortment includes a variety of construction methods such as fabric-covered, metal-framed, and passementerie techniques. One card, labeled Gone with the Wind (Fabric) Fancy Tops, features buttons with woven patterns and handwritten labels identifying motifs like stars, anchors, and turtles. A second card contains larger pictorial buttons, including designs of an owl, the St. Louis Gateway Arch, and a United States flag, along with beaded and jeweled examples. The third card displays intricately embroidered and woven fabric buttons. The final card, titled Velvet Back, showcases metal-framed buttons with velvet centers and celestial or floral motifs. These items are buttons that represent various styles from the Victorian era through the early 20th century.
