Description
This collection of antique and vintage French buttons is presented on a professionally labeled display board, likely serving as a salesman sample set. These items are buttons crafted from a wide array of materials including brass, wood, enamel, glass, shell, porcelain, ceramic, pewter, horn, and leather. The assortment features various decorative motifs such as floral patterns, cameos, animal figures, and geometric designs. Descriptive labels on the mount identify specific materials and origins, frequently citing Paris and manufacturers such as AP and Cie, EM, T and W, and P and M, with one brass example dated 1883. The buttons are secured to the cardboard mount by colored wires through their shanks. The reverse side reveals assorted backmarks consistent with French manufacture.
The display board measures approximately 10 inches in length. Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
