Description
World War Two U.S. Navy VS-71 squadron patch. The patch is painted on leather… Measures 7.125″ x 4.5″. Established as Scouting Squadron Seventy One (VS-71) on July 1, 1939. The squadron was disestablished on January 7, 1943. The insignia was approved on April 29, 1940. VS-71 was deployed on the USS Wasp and flew the Vought SBU-1 Corsair, the Vought SB2U-1/2 Vindicator and the Douglass SBD-3 Dauntless. VS-71 participated in the Battle of the Atlantic then transferred to the Pacific Fleet to support the Invasion of Guadalcanal. Scouting Pick up is Sunday, March 29 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
