Description
World War Two U.S. Navy identified VT-16 squadron patch. The patch is decal on leather. Measures 4.875″ in diameter. Established as Torpedo Squadron Sixteen (VT-16) on November 28,1942..The insignia was approved by the Office of Chief of Naval Operations – CNO on February 12, 1945. VT-16 was deployed on the (CV-16) USS Lexington and the USS Randolph towards the end of the War. Flew the Grumman TBF-1 Avenger. Participated iin Campaigns at Tarawa, Truk, Marianas and Gilbert Islands. Pick up is Sunday, March 29 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
