Description
A Zippo Manufacturing Company Model No. 200 Brush Finish chrome-plated pocket lighter with its original two-piece retail packaging. The bottom of the lighter is stamped with the Zippo logo flanked by three vertical bars on each side, indicating a manufacture date of 1968. The front lid is engraved with KENNETH W RICHWINE 1970, while the body displays the block-lettered satirical inscription: THE ARMY IS LIKE A RUBBER IT GIVES YOU THE FEELING OF SECURITY WHILE YOU RE GETTING FUCKED. The reverse side features a hand-etched illustration of a couple alongside a cynical variation of the 23rd Psalm: YEA THOUGH I WALK THROUGH THE VALLEY OF THE SHADOW OF DEATH I WILL FEAR NO EVIL FOR I AM THE EVILEST SON OF A BITCH IN THE VALLEY. The internal steel insert is stamped with FOR BEST RESULTS USE ZIPPO FLINTS AND FLUID and ZIPPO MFG. CO. BRADFORD, PA. MADE IN ZIPPO U.S.A. followed by a registered trademark symbol. The lot includes the original white and red cardboard box with a black plastic-lined insert. The side of the box is labeled No. 200 BRUSH FINISH. A vintage retail price tag remains attached to the gold-toned underside of the box base. We do our best to describe all items in the sale, and we definitely take a ton of photos.
