Description
This lot features a trio of original United States military technical manuals spanning from the World War II era to the Vietnam War era.
The first manual is TM 1-411, a War Department Technical Manual titled Airplane Hydraulic Systems and Miscellaneous Equipment, dated October 20, 1941. This softcover, staple-bound publication was prepared under the direction of the Chief of the Air Corps. It contains detailed instructional text and technical diagrams concerning hydraulic principles, units, and systems, including illustrations of orifice check valves, bypass check valves, and full-system schematics for landing gear and flap operations.
The second manual is TM 55-8465-213-10, a Department of the Army Operator’s Manual for Survival Kit, Hot Climate, Individual (FSN 8465-973-1861), dated June 1971. This pocket-sized manual provides instructions for the components of a hot-climate survival kit. It includes detailed illustrations of kit contents such as signaling mirrors, compasses, and various survival tools, along with procedural instructions for rescue signaling and land navigation.
The third manual is TM 9-2320-218-10, a Department of the Army Operator’s Manual for the M151 series 1/4 Ton 4×4 Utility Truck and M718/M718A1 Frontline Ambulances, dated September 1971. This manual covers operating instructions and basic maintenance procedures that can be performed by the operator, such as wheel and tire replacement. It also contains critical safety warnings regarding carbon monoxide and illustrations of vehicle-mounted equipment including M16/M14 rifle mounts and fire extinguishers. We do our best to describe all items in the sale, and we definitely take a ton of photos. But, we are not able to guarantee authenticity or era of items in the sale. Please carefully look at all photos (up to 100 in some cases on our in-house platform) to judge for yourself what you are buying. All sales are final. Our in-house shipping is available. Pickup is Wednesday, July 15, from Noon to 5 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
