Description
A United States Army M-1943 Mackinaw coat, frequently referred to as a Jeep coat. This heavy outerwear garment is constructed from olive drab cotton poplin or sateen. It features a double-breasted front with a large, rounded shawl-style collar and two deep bellows-style pockets at the hips with buttoned flaps. The sleeves include adjustable button-tab cuffs. The interior construction consists of a heavy brown wool melton lining on the lower portion and a lighter weight cotton lining in the upper yoke and sleeves. A hand-stamped ink laundry mark reading S-0349 is present on the interior neck area, consisting of the first letter of a last name and the final four digits of a service number. No original manufacturer contract labels are visible in the provided images. We do our best to describe all items in the sale, and we definitely take a ton of photos.
