Description
This lot comprises a diverse assortment of military history, reference works, and historical fiction in both hardcover and softcover formats. Notable biographical and narrative works include a softcover edition of Grant by Ron Chernow (Penguin Books, 2017) and several hardcover editions with dust jackets: Sharpe’s Havoc and Agincourt by Bernard Cornwell, The Siege of Loyalty House by Jessie Childs, and The Lost Paratroopers of Normandy by Stephen G. Rabe. The collection features a significant group of reference materials focused on uniforms and equipment, including multiple volumes from the G.I. The Illustrated History of the American Soldier, His Uniform and His Equipment series (titles include Longknives, Bluecoats, Custer and His Commands, The War in Europe, The War in the Pacific, Billy Yank, and Over There!). Specialized technical references include Combat Flying Equipment and Combat Flying Clothing by C.G. Sweeting, Warman’s World War II Collectibles Identification and Price Guide by John F. Graf, and Osprey Military’s Men-at-Arms Series No. 70, The US Army 1941-45 by Philip Katcher. Additionally, the group contains a softcover edition of Baker Bandits: Korea’s Band of Brothers by Emmett Shelton Jr. and one large quarto-sized hardcover volume featuring an ornate, embossed brown faux-leather binding with a circular inset illustration depicting a steam locomotive. We do our best to describe all items in the sale, and we definitely take a ton of photos. But, we are not able to guarantee authenticity or era of items in the sale. Please carefully look at all photos (up to 100 in some cases on our in-house platform) to judge for yourself what you are buying. All sales are final. Our in-house shipping is available. Pickup is Wednesday, July 15, from Noon to 5 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
