Description
An assortment of hardcover and trade softcover volumes focusing on the military and frontier history of North America during the eighteenth century. The collection encompasses themes of the American Revolution, the French and Indian War, and conflicts involving Native American communities. Key authors and titles include David McCullough’s 1776 (Simon and Schuster), David Preston’s Braddock’s Defeat (Oxford University Press), and Colin G. Calloway’s The American Revolution in Indian Country (Cambridge University Press). The grouping includes multiple works by Allan W. Eckert, such as The Frontiersmen, Wilderness Empire, and That Dark and Bloody River. Also present is a two-volume set of James Fenimore Cooper’s Leatherstocking Tales from The Library of America, housed in the original tan publisher’s slipcases. Other titles include Walter R. Borneman’s The French and Indian War, Patrick Spero’s Frontier Rebels, Arthur S. Lefkowitz’s Benedict Arnold’s Army, and Jack Kelly’s Band of Giants. Most hardcover volumes retain their original dust jackets. The books are primarily in octavo format. We do our best to describe all items in the sale, and we definitely take a ton of photos. But, we are not able to guarantee authenticity or era of items in the sale. Please carefully look at all photos (up to 100 in some cases on our in-house platform) to judge for yourself what you are buying. All sales are final. Our in-house shipping is available. Pickup is Wednesday, July 15, from Noon to 5 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
