July Military Auction
Lot 25398:
Description
A pair of US Army M1943 pattern utility jackets constructed from Olive Drab Shade 7 (OD-7) cotton herringbone twill. These garments feature the characteristic large chest patch pockets with rectangular button-down flaps typical of the mid-to-late war M1943 design. They are equipped with black-painted steel thirteen-star tack buttons on the front placket, pockets, and cuffs. Both jackets include the internal small flat metal buttons along the interior placket originally designed to secure a protective anti-gas flap. One jacket displays a legible black ink stencil on the inside collar indicating size 15 x 30, positioned next to a faded, illegible handwritten laundry or service number mark.
