Description
This is a U.S. Army OG-107 cotton sateen utility shirt, Type III, dating from the Vietnam War era, circa late 1960s to early 1970s. The garment features pointed pocket flaps, a button-down front, and buttoned cuffs. It is named to an individual via a white cotton name tape with black embroidered letters reading MCNALLY on the right chest. An olive drab branch tape with black embroidered letters reading U.S. ARMY is located on the left chest. The right collar features a Warrant Officer rank insignia, appearing as a gold-tone bar with brown enamel squares. The shirt is adorned with several period cloth insignia. The left shoulder bears a full-color 1st Cavalry Division (Airmobile) patch. The right shoulder bears a full-color 101st Airborne Division patch with a separate AIRBORNE tab. Above the branch tape, three cloth qualification badges are sewn: a Combat Infantryman Badge (CIB) featuring two stars within the wreath indicating a third award, a Senior Army Aviator Badge (wings with a star within the wreath), and a Master Parachutist Badge (wings with a star and wreath). The reverse of the shirt features two black stenciled versions of the name MCNALLY, one oriented vertically and one horizontally, along with a small stenciled rectangle. A white manufacturer label is present in the interior collar but is heavily frayed and illegible. The interior also features a square fabric repair or reinforcement patch of a lighter olive shade.
