Description
A United States Army 3rd pattern Tropical Combat Jacket, also known as a jungle fatigue jacket, dating to the Vietnam War era. The garment is constructed from olive drab ripstop cotton poplin, characterized by a visible grid-like weave throughout the fabric. The jacket features four front bellows pockets with slanted chest pockets and hidden button closures. The left sleeve is adorned with a 1st Infantry Division shoulder sleeve insignia, commonly known as the Big Red One. The right sleeve features a curved Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol scroll with a yellow border and red embroidered letters reading LRRP 52, signifying the 52nd Infantry (Long Range Patrol) unit which served with the 1st Infantry Division. Below the unit scroll are Master Sergeant (E-8) rank chevrons. The left chest displays a subdued U.S. ARMY branch tape and a subdued Combat Infantryman Badge (CIB) sewn above the pocket. The name tape from the right chest has been removed, leaving a visible rectangular stitch shadow. A white fabric label is present in the interior collar area with the following information: MEDIUM-REGULAR, Chest: 37 to 41 inches, Height: 67 to 71 inches, 8405-935-4708. The main manufacturer contract label is missing. We do our best to describe all items in the sale, and we definitely take a ton of photos.
