July Military Auction
Lot 25354:
Description
This is a mid-20th-century cold weather parka in olive drab green, designed in a style consistent with military extreme cold weather gear of the Cold War era. The parka features a heavyweight cotton or cotton-nylon blend shell with an integrated hood. The interior is lined with a thick, brown synthetic pile (faux-fur) that extends into the hood. The front closure utilizes a heavy-duty brass-tone metal zipper protected by a storm flap that secures with four large brown plastic buttons. The garment includes four exterior pockets: two diagonal slash pockets at the chest and two large rectangular box pockets with button-down flaps at the waist. The sleeves are finished with adjustable button-tab cuffs. No manufacturer marks, service stencils, or contract labels are present on the shell or lining.
