Description

This is a World War II-era US Army M1942 paratrooper jump jacket, a specialized field garment designed for airborne operations. The jacket is constructed from light olive drab cotton twill. It features a full-length metal zipper and four large front cargo pockets with dual snap-button closures. The upper chest pockets are slanted for accessibility, while the lower pockets are straight. The design includes shoulder epaulets and an action back with gussets for increased range of motion. The left sleeve is adorned with a period-correct, embroidered First Allied Airborne Army shoulder sleeve insignia, featuring a blue shield with a winged white one over a maroon triangle and an integrated Allied Airborne tab. Below this insignia are sergeant rank chevrons in dark blue on a khaki base. The waist belt is present and currently secured with a safety pin through the belt loops.
