Description

This lot consists of two Brodie-style steel helmets. The first is an original early 20th-century steel helmet shell, consistent with the British Mark I or U.S. M1917 pattern. It features a broad rim, a single top rivet, and two fixed wire chin strap bales riveted to the interior. The exterior retains a textured olive drab finish showing significant aging. The second item is a refurbished or reproduction Brodie-style shell with a smooth olive drab paint finish. This example is fitted with a modern interior liner constructed from yellow and black synthetic materials and a central drawstring mesh net. A white fabric label inside the liner reads TIGHTEN CORD AND ADJUST NET TO FIT THE HEAD. It is equipped with a tan leather chin strap featuring brass-tone hardware.
