Description
This collection consists of various United States Marine Corps (USMC) uniform accessories and equipment. The lot includes an olive drab green cotton canvas web pistol belt featuring three rows of blackened brass grommets, fitted with a polished brass buckle with an applied three-dimensional Eagle, Globe, and Anchor (EGA) emblem. Also present are two rolls of white cotton web material for dress uniforms and three khaki cotton web service belts with brass buckles and end tips. A ceremonial red and yellow braided cord fourragere with a brass tip is included, which traditionally represents the French Croix de Guerre fourragere worn by the 5th and 6th Marine Regiments. The collection is rounded out by an assortment of polished brass hardware, including two large belt buckles with USMC EGA insignia (one applied and one stamped), three plain polished brass buckles, and various brass belt keepers and end tips of different sizes. One buckle is stamped on the reverse with the maker’s mark: OFFICERS’ EQUIPMENT COMPANY. We do our best to describe all items in the sale, and we definitely take a ton of photos. But, we are not able to guarantee authenticity or era of items in the sale. Pickup is Wednesday, July 15, from Noon to 5 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
