Description
This grouping consists of three Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) membership insignia items, including a full-size medal, a screw-back lapel pin, and a ribbon bar. The membership medal features a bronze-toned metal Maltese cross with radiant bars between the arms. The central medallion displays an American eagle, a three-masted sailing ship, and a fouled anchor. The reverse of the cross is embossed with the text VETERANS OF FOREIGN WARS. It is suspended from a blue, white, and red vertically striped silk ribbon with a brass pin-back clasp. The screw-back lapel pin features a similar VFW emblem with the circumscribed text VETERANS OF FOREIGN WARS OF THE UNITED STATES. The accompanying threaded circular nut is stamped STERLING. The grouping also includes a ribbon bar with blue, white, red, and yellow stripes and a single pin-back fastening.
