Description
This lot consists of a complete two-person shelter system, commonly referred to as a pup tent, utilized by the United States military during the Cold War era. The set includes two individual shelter halves constructed from heavy olive drab cotton duck canvas. Each half features a series of metal snaps along the ridge line to join with another section, along with reinforced metal grommets and original white cotton guy ropes. The accompanying hardware includes a group of aluminum pole sections, with three finished in olive drab paint and one in black anodization. Also included are four heavy-duty metal tent stakes; three stakes are finished in high-visibility orange paint, and one remains in a natural silver finish. The canvas is marked with a black stencil reading US. The stakes bear the stamped markings ALTRO U.S. and 92398 U.S. We do our best to describe all items in the sale, and we definitely take a ton of photos. But, we are not able to guarantee authenticity or era of items in the sale. Please carefully look at all photos (up to 100 in some cases on our in-house platform) to judge for yourself what you are buying. All sales are final. Our in-house shipping is available. Pickup is Wednesday, July 15, from Noon to 5 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
