Description

This lot features a United States Marine Corps (USMC) M1 steel helmet assembly dating from World War II into the Korean War era. The assembly consists of a standard steel helmet shell fitted with a first-pattern reversible cloth camouflage cover. The cover is displayed with the beach (tan/brown) side facing out, while the interior displays the jungle (green/brown) frogskin pattern. The cover includes stitched foliage slits for field concealment and a faded but identifiable black stenciled Eagle, Globe, and Anchor (EGA) emblem on the front. The helmet includes a high-pressure plastic liner with an Olive Drab (OD) herringbone twill (HBT) webbing suspension system. It retains its original leather sweatband and OD web chinstraps with a mid-to-late-war ball-and-hook style buckle. A wooden ruler is shown in the images for scale.
